Let’s hear from Sunil about what inspired him to incorporate the Schlagwerk Cajon into his setup.

Q. How were you first introduced to Schlagwerk?

Sunil: I watched a Grammy-winning percussionist perform live on stage and one of the percussions that he used caught my attention and I found that it was a log drum by Schlagwerk. That’s how I got introduced to Schlagwerk.

Q. Could you tell us about the Schlagwerk instrument you use and what factors influenced your decision to select it?

Sunil: I use a CP80 rudiment nature cajon by Schlagwerk and the factor that influenced me to buy it is the clear separation between the bass and snare, the sanded corners, and the durability.

Q. How does your Schlagwerk Cajon compare to other brands available in India?

Sunil: It is way more authentic with its tone and durability in both studio and live environments as these qualities are not seen much in other brands available in India.

Q. Do you have any other Schlagwerk instruments on your wishlist?

Sunil: Yes, of course, the log drum and the handpan.

Q. How does your Schlagwerk instrument perform in both studio and live settings? What do you appreciate most about its performance in each setting?

Sunil: It performs at its optimal best in both studio and live settings it’s the separation and quality of the tone in both settings are what I appreciate the most.

Q. How would you introduce Schlagwerk to someone unfamiliar with their instruments or the brand?

Sunil: I would introduce Schlagwerk through its quality in tone, durability, comfort, handcrafted, exclusively manufactured in Germany, versatility, and wide range of products.

Q. What are your thoughts on Schlagwerk’s philosophy of maintaining high-quality production in Germany without outsourcing?

Sunil: That is one thing that makes Schlagwerk stand out with maintaining quality and comfort with anything and everything Schlagwerk manufactures and has put Schlagwerk on top of the market and in the hearts of artists from all over the world.

Q. Describe Schlagwerk in 3 words.

Sunil: Innovative! Quality! Craftsmanship!
