Q. What initially attracted you to Taylor acoustic guitars, and how did you first become acquainted with the brand?
Yohan: The tone, feel & convenience of the GS mini is unparalleled. I am a musical chameleon, I perform, compose, write, record & produce. I reach for my acoustic guitar in moments of such intense creativity that the instrument just feels like a part of me. This being said, I needed to pick an instrument that is so versatile & so perfect that it fulfills all these needs. I am so happy I picked Taylor.
Some of my musical heroes played Taylor guitars, as musicians we are well aware of the quality that Taylor provides. The GS mini had been on my radar for a while & during a rehearsal, I picked up a friend’s guitar & absolutely fell in love with it. I knew I had to have it. It was just a matter of time.
Q. Tell us about your guitar. Can you describe the specific qualities or features of Taylor guitars that made you choose them over other acoustic guitar brands?
Yohan: Tone first, size second & build quality third. At the end of the day, the tone of an instrument is everything. The GS mini gives you a rich, lush tone (mine is rosewood). What’s incredible is that they have been able to do this whilst keeping the instrument small, this was a huge plus for me. As musicians, we travel a lot & end up carrying our instruments everywhere. The size was a huge factor for me. Lastly, I remember sitting at The Stockist & playing the different models before deciding to buy mine, I was blown away by the quality & build of these guitars. It feels in every way like a premium product.

Yohan: Because of my versatile scope of work with my guitar (performing, recording & composing) I need something that would provide the best tone & sound quality in all situations. I had played & heard rave reviews about the “Taylor GS mini Mahogany” the rich dark tone that seemed to just have composers & musicians floored, I found myself trying the different models & it was the rosewood model that exceeded all my expectations. It resonates & shines a bit brighter & has great attack when played a bit louder.

Yohan: The GS mini is a beauty, its simple yet strong design is a great addition to its fantastic sonic qualities. I have noticed that people who know nothing about instruments seem to love the case & I often find myself talking to strangers about it.

Yohan: The GS mini delivers great resonance & lush tone while maintaining a size that is perfect for travel. The size was a big factor for me as I end up travelling & performing a lot.
Q. Taylor guitars are often praised for their playability and ease of maintenance. Can you share any insights into your own experiences with the setup and upkeep of your Taylor instrument?
Yohan: So far I have never had to deal with maintenance & the guitar has been 100% problem-free. I also have a good relationship with The Stockist & Tone Connoisseur so when I do need help with the Taylor I know I am in the best hands possible.

Yohan: In today’s age of constant innovation, to do a simple thing exceptionally well is the need of the hour & Taylor is the absolute best at that.
