Let’s hear from Dan as he shares his experience after trying S.I.T strings.

Q. How did you hear about SIT Strings, and what made you interested in trying them?

Dan: I have often seen a few Instagram posts pop up on my Explore page but haven’t been curious enough to try them until Sunny D’Souza recommended I try them. I decided to give them a try because the accessible brand of strings never really set them apart from each other so I was intrigued to see what changes this could bring.

Q. What were your initial impressions of the Power Groove Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings (PN1046) and the Royal Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings (RL1254)?

Dan: The “Power Groove” was the biggest surprise. The changes were conspicuous and honestly, I couldn’t process it!! I jammed on for hours unable to comprehend the difference a set of strings could make. The “Royal Bronze” like the name was Rich and felt so too.

Q. Did you notice any immediate differences in tone or playability compared to your previous string sets?

Dan: Absolutely!! Coming from a person who has been indifferent to which set of strings goes on my guitars, The differences were quite apparent! It felt like they were meticulously engineered to pull through.

Q. How would you describe the tone of the Power Groove Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings compared to other nickel strings you’ve used?

Dan: The “Power Groove” was bright and punchy which would definitely give me the edge to cut through the mix. The overtones were perfect to bring out the harmonic richness of the instrument. I’ve always found nickel strings to sound rather dull and compensate for it on the amp’s settings but this was an entirely different scenario.

Q. How did the Royal Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings affect the sound of your acoustic guitar?

Dan: The Royal Bronze was warm but not too warm to make them muddy. I was happy with how tamed the output sounded on my dreadnought. The open chords resonated beautifully with a long and rich sustain.

Q. Did you notice any changes in sustain or resonance with these strings?

Dan: Yes. They weren’t too loud but were the perfect resonance to let them ring for a long time.

Q. How comfortable were the SIT strings to play on? Did they feel different from other strings you’ve used?

Dan: The SIT strings offered me a great sense of control over the instrument. I felt more confident each time I had to make those big bends knowing they wouldn’t snap. They felt more premium and durable than the rest of the strings I’ve used.

Q. Did you experience any issues with string tension or tuning stability?

Dan: Nothing whatsoever. Usually, a brand new set of strings takes some time to stretch out and often slips from the saddles but surprisingly, this hasn’t happened even once, even as I strummed with a heavy hand.

Q. How would you rate the overall playability of these strings for different playing styles?

Dan: The Power Groove is made for those big bends and expressive vibratos. It’s what you would need for the live scenario when the energy takes over and you come to life for those expressive solos.

The Royal Bronze is for those tasty bluegrass flatpicking licks and those open chords although it can do a good amount of fingerpicking too.

Q. Would you consider switching to SIT strings for your regular use? Why or why not?

Dan: Totally!! It feels like I’ve been kept in the dark for not knowing or trying them out for so long. Can’t wait to make the switch on all my guitars.

Q. Would you recommend these strings to other guitarists? If so, what type of player do you think would benefit the most from them?

Dan: I think all the RnB, Neo soul, and rock guitarists would love the Power Groove. The control you would get on them is perfect for the job. The Royal Bronze would be for all those singer-songwriters who need their vocals to be blanketed by the guitars.

Q. How would you describe SIT strings to someone who has never tried them?

Dan: Try them once and you won’t go back to your old set.
